During the CERIS event, emergency responders, practitioners, researchers and technology suppliers and developers met in Brussels to discuss emergency responder needs and possibilities for innovation.

As part of the POWERBASE project’s efforts to pave the way for the procurement of innovative, low-emission mobile power solutions, Eleni Lianou (KEMEA) explained how emergency responders can employ public procurement tools (e.g. Pre-commercial procurement or Public Procurement of Innovation) to cover responder needs.

Afterwards, three cutting-edge technology suppliers and developers showcased mobile, low-emission energy solutions for emergency response.

  • Joachim Lügtenaar from B&W International GmbH kicked things off with the B&W Energy Case – a robust and flexible power supply designed to support emergency shelters and field operations, wherever they’re needed.
  • Joerg Schwenk from Vogt-CTE GmbH followed with a powerful demonstration of their hydrogen fuel cell technology, offering a clean and reliable energy source with impressive potential for sustainable emergency deployments.
  • Piet van der Staaij wrapped up the session with Instagrid’s compact energy solutions – lightweight, high-performance mobile batteries that promise to provide power without compromise.

A big thank you to our technology partners for bringing these solutions to life!
