On March 5-6, 2025, Alexander Rösner, Ph.D., coordinator of the POWERBASE project and representative of the German Federal Agency for Technical Relief (THW), introduced the project at the 11th BMBF Symposium on European Security Research in Brussels.
This symposium, organized by the German Federal Ministry of Education and Research (BMBF), serves as a key platform for experts, policymakers, and researchers to discuss advancements in European security research. POWERBASE contributed to this dialogue by presenting its mission: preparing the ground for the procurement of mobile, low-emission energy solutions to support emergency response organizations.
During the event, Dr. Rösner highlighted how POWERBASE is addressing the critical need for reliable, self-sufficient, and sustainable power sources in crisis situations. By identifying user requirements and mapping state-of-the-art technologies, the project is paving the way for future innovation procurement in emergency energy resilience.
Participation in the BMBF Symposium provided an excellent opportunity to engage with stakeholders, exchange insights, and reinforce the importance of sustainable energy solutions in emergency response operations.
