As part of the POWERBASE project’s efforts to pave the way for the procurement of innovative, low-emission mobile power solutions, Eleni Lianou (KEMEA) and Filomena Vieira (Vieira Procurement Legal Services) led a dedicated procurement training session. The goal of the session was to provide insights into the complexities of innovation procurement, helping to equip our team with the knowledge and skills needed for a successful process.

Why Procurement Training Matters for POWERBASE

One of the primary goals of the POWERBASE project is to support emergency response organizations in transitioning to sustainable, mobile power solutions. However, procuring innovative technologies—particularly in the public sector—requires navigating a set of complex rules, regulations, and strategic considerations. That’s where these training sessions came in.

The training focused on:

  • Understanding Innovation Procurement: Key legal frameworks, procedures, and best practices for sourcing cutting-edge solutions.
  • Challenges in Public Procurement: How to address the specific needs of public buyers while ensuring compliance.
  • Best Practices: Learning from real-world examples of successful procurement processes in similar fields.

A big thank you to Eleni Lianou and Filomena Vieira for their expertise and guidance in this essential area! Their insights will be instrumental in shaping the next steps of POWERBASE as we move toward preparing the actual innovation procurement process.
