The POWERBASE project was delighted to take part in the International Disaster and Risk Conference (IDRiM), a leading forum bringing together experts, practitioners, and policymakers in the field of disaster risk management. This conference had a special focus on islands and remote areas.
During the conference, Danai Kazantzidou-Firtinidou presented the project, highlighting its objectives, approach, and results. Her talk focused on how POWERBASE has explored mobile, low-emission energy solutions for emergency shelters and operational basesāan important step towards more sustainable and resilient disaster response systems.
The presentation also showcased the projectās key milestones, its strong collaboration between emergency responders, research institutes, suppliers, and policy experts, and the potential impact of POWERBASE outcomes on future procurement processes.
